Summary of Purpose

Dimensions In Doctrine, Inc. is an independent, non-denominational, Christian organization, which is dedicated to the ministry of producing and promoting doctrinally-sound and dispensationally-accurate Bible studies for the serious student of the Scriptures.  Originally when founded in 1989, it was established for the purpose of documenting the collective teachings of Dennis A. Walters, pastor-teacher in order to disseminate them by means of varied publications, audio cassettes, and video tapes.  On November 20, 2003, Pastor Walters was called home to be with the Lord.  After his passing many have requested that his work continue to be made available.  With this in mind, this ministry will continue as long as the Lord provides the means.

One of the main objectives of this outreach is to render a broader picture of some of the more difficult Biblical concepts into a form that is more easily grasped and quickly comprehended.  To accomplish this, Pastor Walters attempted to use graphics in such a way so as to provide an instant “frame-of-reference” that immediately enables the learner to perceive the subject that is being taught.  Often in the audiotapes, he will make reference to such graphics.

This was achieved by drafting the very structural designs provided by the Scriptures themselves for illustrating divine truths, into proportionate, panoramic representations. These representations are then explained in the light of their historical setting, doctrinal category, and dispensational classification.  As such, these descriptive portrayals offer a unique and innovative method of clearly communicating doctrines that would otherwise be considered, more or less, confusing and obscure.

This idea, of course, comes directly from the pen of the Apostle Paul.  It was his desire that every Grace-Age believer might “be able to comprehend (Gr., katalambano= “mentally grasp”)… the breadth, and length, and depth, and height…” (Eph. 3:18) of all the teachings of the Bible (II Tim. 3:16-17).  This, obviously, refers to a patterned depiction or illustrative design of a doctrinal truth for the purpose of obtaining a proper understanding of it (Eph. 1:16-20).  Because it is only when doctrine is correctly comprehended that we can apply it (II Tim. 2:15-18), properly obey it (Rom. 6:16-18; II Tim. 4:1-4), endeavor to grow spiritually by it (Eph. 4:14-24), and then also utilize it in the defense of “the faith” (Rom. 16:17-19; I Tim. 1:3-10; II Tim. 3:1-9; Ti. 1:9-16; 2:7-8).

It is the further aim of this ministry to furnish these materials and services to assist each believer in advancing in the total Plan of God in specific areas and, thus, to help them attain spiritual maturity (I Cor. 3:1-2).  However, they are not meant to be a substitute or replacement for the invaluable and indispensable ministry of one’s own, “right” pastor.  The Biblical position contends that the maximum spiritual growth and effectiveness of the believer is attained only through the routine, systematic, doctrinally-comprehensive, “face-to-face” teaching of a pastor, within the context of the “classroom” of a local church (Acts 20:27-28; Eph. 4:7-13).  Therefore, it is our goal to offer this ministry in support of any pastor and congregation, who are seeking better ways and means of making “all men see” (Eph. 3:9) the truths of God’s Word.
